The Engineered Bar Products Division and its employees have a tradition of sharing their time, talent, and treasure with the local community. A major effort in that vein is an annual campaign to benefit the United Way of Hendricks County. Employee donations, which are matched by the division, help fund the many organizations under the United Way umbrella that serve people of all ages by providing programs that promote education, health and wellness, and meet basic needs. 

Moreover, employees throughout SDI strive to help others. SDI employees serve on the boards of nonprofit organizations and educational institutions and help organize fundraisers. The company supports the arts and other worthwhile cultural endeavors. And the company has made significant contributions to higher education, including providing funds to build new facilities for colleges and universities.
